Ingredients
- 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
- 1.5 cups sugar
- 1.5 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup mashed ripe banana
- 2/3 cup buttermilk or sour milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Creamy Butter Frosting

Preheat oven to 350°F

Grease and lightly flour one bundt baking pan
- Original recipe: two 9"x1.5" round baking pans

In a mixer bowl combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt

Add shortening and banana; beat on low speed of electric mixer till combined

Add buttermilk or sour milk, eggs, and vanilla; beat 2 minutes on medium speed

Turn batter into prepared pan

Bake for 30 minutes or till done

Cool 10 minutes on wire racks

Remove from pans; cool thoroughly

Frost with Creamy Butter Frosting
